Hello everyone! My name is Jarrett Fenlon and I am pleased to be a member of the Lander International team focusing on the greater New York City area. I feel the Big Apple is an area vibrant with opportunity. We have clients looking for Director level people as well as other clients who are always keeping a watchful eye out for staff level people who can come into audit, stay two years, and then move out into other areas of the organization. My goal is to get to thoroughly know each audit department in NYC and understand its goals, approach, and the corporate culture in which it functions. Through this in-depth knowledge, I can help candidates more wisely choose organizations where they will thrive.

Before getting into recruiting, I worked in the marketing arena for a financial services firm. I seem to have an especial affinity for the investment banks and portfolio management firms in Manhattan, but my range of clients also includes just about every industry imaginable from entertainment and media through pharmaceuticals and retail. My degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley gave me a good educational foundation for understanding corporate cultures and politics, but frankly I think I learned nearly as much from the extended fieldtrip I took across Western Europe after graduation. The trip opened my eyes to different cultures and points of view about business and life.

Becoming a recruiter focused on internal audit is an opportunity that really excites me. It brings with it the chance to meet and speak with people from all walks of life and at every stage of their careers. My philosophy as a recruiter is to build long-term relationships with both candidates and clients. I thoroughly enjoy hearing about how people have made their various career transitions and what strategies they employed. I look forward to discussing a range of opportunities with candidates and helping them evaluate which one is the best fit for achieving their long term career goals.

When I am not at Lander International, I enjoy playing golf. With my father, brother and friends I helped to start an NCGA-recognized golf club that competes in tournaments statewide. At Cal Berkeley I was a walk-on to the football team. Cal has a Division 1-A football program within the Pac 10 Conference. Music has also been a passion of mine since childhood, and I enjoy singing, songwriting, and playing guitar, drums, saxophone, and the clarinet. With such a wide range of interests, I understand the need for living a balanced life with appropriate time for family, friends, and developing a satisfying career.
